Itstill makes my heart beat a little faster to have the opportunity to take an idea, partner it with a personality, represent it with a picture, and then spread the word. In more than 25 years as a graphic designer, those basics have not changed. What has changed is the way in which those small- to medium-sized businesses increase their presence to grow financially and relationally with more clients in today’s fast-paced world. Sometimes that means a minor ‘marketing facelift’ to launch a business into today’s technological marketplace; others starting a new business need everything from a logo to printed brochures and a website. Each of those “projects” represents a person, or a family, or many families. And when they succeed, I feel a proprietary pride in their success.
That’s why I do what I do, on-time and on-budget.
I have found in my career as a graphic designer, as a mother of three home-schooled children, and as a community volunteer, that education is a lifelong learning process. Even with a BA in advertising design and practical work experience — initial training with Ad-Venture, a boutique full-service advertising agency; year over year recognition at the Florida Addy Awards; and over 20 years of graphic design for clients whom I usually served for five years or more — I wanted to learn more to provide the optimum spectrum of offerings to my clients to help boost their marketing presence and financial stability.
Therefore, in 2010, in addition to my own freelance business, I joined forces with noted marketing advice expert John Arnold and his marketing agency to provide graphic design services for their client base, while receiving expansive training in all the latest small business marketing tools and strategies including:
- Search Engine Optimization
- Web Analytics
- Search Engine Marketing
- Online Display Advertising
- E-mail Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
The hands-on experience I received over that year and a half has returned quantitative results not only for myself, but for our clients today.
This year I have had the opportunity to partner with one of the noted authorities on Pinterest, Beth Hayden, and continue to train through Bootcamps, webinars, and articles in the latest trends and changes in the marketing world, with a focus on SEO techniques, strategies, and tools.
At this phase in my life, I continue to be excited about collaborating with clients on the entire spectrum of graphic design, from logo design and visual branding, to print advertising, to web design and marketing. To better understand the clients I have had the pleasure to work for and the services provided to them, I invite you to view my graphic design samples on this site.
If you find a need that I can help fulfill, please contact me and I would be happy to show you more samples of my work over a nice cup of coffee at your local small business coffee shop.
